Prophetic Worship & Intercession at Lake St. Clair
Our Troy Assembly of God Prophetic Worship & Intercession Prayer Hub gathered at Lake St. Clair for a dedicated time of worship, prayer, Scripture declarations, and prophetic acts over Michigan, the United States, and the nations of the world.
The gathering included worship along the shoreline, the sounding of the shofar, and two symbolic acts of consecration. Throughout the time together, the group prayed for spiritual awakening, the advancement of the Gospel, a turning of hearts toward God, and a great harvest of souls.
Worship, Scripture & Declaration
Grounded in the Word of God, the group read and declared Scripture, including Judges 7:20 and Psalm 29:3–7.
Drawing from Judges 7:20, the gathering declared:
“The Sword of the Lord and the Sword of Michigan!”
The group prayed for spiritual renewal in our nation, for the worship of God alone, and for His glory to fill the earth. As the shofar sounded and prayers were lifted, they also declared the faithfulness of God and His power to accomplish His purposes, regardless of human opposition or unbelief.
Reflecting on Psalm 29, the group proclaimed:
“The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth…” — Psalm 29:3 (KJV)
Prayers were lifted for the breaking of spiritual strongholds, the removal of obstacles hindering people from hearing the Gospel, and the release of a great harvest throughout Michigan, the United States, and the nations.
The gathering also included declarations shared by Apostle Tim Sheets at a conference, joining in prayer for God's purposes to be fulfilled across the land.
Prophetic Act One: A Covenant of Salt
As the first symbolic act, participants released salt brought from Israel into the waters of Lake St. Clair. Each person reflected on the biblical imagery of a covenant of salt as a reminder of God's enduring faithfulness and the call to honor Him with the first and best of our lives.
This act represented consecration, intercession, and a renewed commitment to pray for the United States to remain a nation under God. The group prayed for life, liberty, justice, and a renewed devotion to Jesus Christ.
Prophetic Act Two: Consecrating the Land
The second symbolic act involved pouring out ten biblical oils along the water's edge as an expression of prayerful dedication of the land to the Lord.
This act also recalled the historic prayer and dedication associated with Reverend Robert Hunt at Cape Henry, Virginia, on April 29, 1607. According to the historical account, Hunt, the expedition's Anglican chaplain, led a prayer service giving thanks for the safe ocean crossing and dedicating the land and future generations to the work of spreading the Gospel. A large wooden cross was erected at Cape Henry.
Remembering this history, the group prayed that the United States and future generations would turn to God and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would continue to be proclaimed throughout the land.
The Ten Biblical Oils
The oils used in this symbolic act were:
Aloes (Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood) — John 19:39
Cassia — Psalm 45:8
Cedarwood — 1 Kings 4:33
Cypress — Isaiah 44:14
Frankincense (Levonah) — Song of Solomon 3:6
Hyssop — Psalm 51:7
Myrrh — Proverbs
